A study conducted by McKinsey (et al.. 2004-2016) aimed to find the link between new healthcare contracts and Medcare ratings. He found that plans with four or more stars have a greater enrollment growth than those with three or less stars.
Specifically, those with a consistent rating of four or more stars experienced over 40% growth. Plans with a decreasing rating grew by only 8%, and conracts that consistently stayed below four stars has less than 1% growth.
